Description

LIGHT FIRES! BURN STUFF! MESS WITH YOUR PALS!

Hot Garbage is a strategic, punchy card game for people who like burning things and causing mayhem. Ignite your burn pits and torch card for points, but watch out; your opponent(s) will try to stop you by any means necessary!

This mischievous 54-card game supports 2 or 4 players (in teams) and takes between 15-30 minutes to play.

Here's a very brief at-a-glance overview of Hot Garbage's gameplay:

Every card in Hot Garbage can be used in 1 of 4 ways!

  • Add wood to a burn slot or active fire you control
  • Ignite a fire in a burn slot you control that has wood in it
  • Begin burning a card for points (face down) above an active fire you control
  • Play a basic ability (your turn only) or instant/counter ability (any player's turn)

Note: Regular abilities cost an action to play and can only be played on your turn. Instant abilities can be played for FREE (they do not cost an action) during ANY player's turn.

ON YOUR TURN (GAMEPLAY FLOW):

I. FIRE UPKEEP PHASE - Rotate any active fires you control 90 degrees clockwise, reducing their burn time by 1 point. Remove any fires that burn out naturally (below 1 point). If any fires you control burn out naturally and have a burning card on them, reveal, score, then discard those cards.

II. ACTION PHASE - You may take up to 3 of the following actions in any combination:

  • Draw a card (max hand size of 5)
  • Discard a card to draw a card
  • Play a card in 1 of 4 ways (add wood, light fire, burn for points, play ability)
  • Pass + end your turn

Instants and card abilities can only be played during the action phase. Instant counter abilities can be stacked, and resolve in reverse order with the last card played triggering first.

III. CLEAN UP PHASE - End your turn and draw back up to 5 cards
