Description
Hydralords is a simple two-player game that's easy to learn, yet deep enough to allow players to execute many different strategies. This game has been intentionally crafted in a way to keep things simple and appeal to players that enjoy the battling aspect of trading card games. There are no booster packs to be found here - everything you need is included in the box!
Hydra Cards
Each player has a red, blue and a green hydra card on their field. Hydra cards can be easily destroyed in battle, but they can also be easily revived later. The object of the game is to utilize your resources in an efficient and strategic way to create an opening so you can attack your opponent's soul die directly. If your opponent's soul die is brought down to 0, you win the game. It's that easy!
Well, there's actually a little bit more to the game than just attacking with your hydra cards...
Both players share a deck of 30 crown cards. By drawing from this deck, you can then attach a crown card onto one of your hydra cards that's of the same color in order to activate a powerful effect that will turn the tide of the game!
Red crown card effects have to do with offense and speed (Destroying hydra cards, discarding your opponent's cards and drawing cards from the deck). If it's time to go on the offense, red crown card effects will definitely give you some momentum.
Blue crown card effects have to do with negation and protection (Negating your opponent's crown card, negating their attacks and increasing your soul die). If the pressure is on and your back's against the wall, a blue crown card can be just what you need to make a comeback.
Green crown card effects have to do with revival and recycling (Reviving destroyed hydra cards and returning crown cards from the grave to your hand). By efficiently utilizing these cards, you'll save more resources in the long run.
