It's basically finished, but may be subject to small changes, so no physical rulebook is available. The rules are available to download for free from this shop page, or via a QR code, found either on the box and/or on one of the cards within.

A Card Duelling Game

You and your opponent have launched your hyper beams at each other. The beams are locked and now you’re stuck in a tug-of-war style battle, trying to increase the power of your beam enough to damage your opponent! To defeat your opponent, you’ll need to be able to capitalise on different power types as they become available.

Gameplay Overview

  • Draw cards and choose their orientation to build your hand.
  • Play coloured power abilities along with special abilities to push your beam closer and closer to your opponent and eventually deal damage.
  • Deal enough damage to your opponent to win the game.

A New Mechanic: Card Building

Each hyper beam card has two abilities. Whenever you draw cards into your hand, choose which abilities you want by rotating each card so that the ability you want to play is in the top left corner.

Play Power Abilities on Matching Residual Power

Green = Wild (like when you mix paint colours; green = yellow + blue)

  • Examples 1 & 2: Play a yellow or blue power ability on the same residual power
  • Example 3: Play a blue (or yellow) power ability on green residual power
  • Example 4: Play a green power ability on yellow (or blue) residual power
Not OK
  • Example 5: Play a blue power ability on yellow residual power (and vice versa)
  • Example 6: Play any power ability on black (no colour) residual power
