You are a rogue robot on the run, recently escaped from a remote laboratory and seeking to repair an antiquated bomber, the IronFlight. You must collect valuable scrap, construct Oil Rigs to harvest from the land, repair the IronFlight, and attempt to take flight to flee this corroded wasteland for good. If you are unable to gather the necessary plane parts and reach max speed as you careen off the runway cliff's edge, you will plummet to your demise… Will you reach the necessary speed to fly to safety or plunge off the cliff, only to have your wreckage scavenged by the next hopeful runaway?
IronFlight is a rogue-lite, push your luck, mini-engine-building solo adventure that allows players to carry over progress between playthroughs, salvaging previous failed attempts and empowering pilots to carry momentum into future rounds to reach their highest score yet.
With over 25 unique plane combinations, 6 different pilots with custom specialties, and 4 advanced actions to assist in modifying scavenging results, each playthrough is guaranteed to be a unique and harrowing experience that will have you on the edge of your pilot's seat!
IronFlight is a robust gameplay experience that fits easily into your pocket or pack for on the go fun!
A round of IronFlight is split into two main phases:
Phase 1: Exploration, Scavenging, and Repair and Phase 2: Attempted Take-Off
In Phase 1, pilots are exploring the surrounding terrain, attempting to salvage valuable scrap and wrecked parts, construct oil rigs, collect oil, and repair a wrecked plane, all while attempting to avoid treacherous raider encounters and monitor the intensifying Rust Storms around them. Upon fully repairing the IronFlight and clearing any rust from their engines, pilots transition into Phase 2, attempting to take off to lands beyond!
In Phase 2, pilots are leveraging their unique plane parts to weigh the odds in their favor. Through weighted dice rolls, attempting to reach or exceed the value corresponding to their increasing speedometer, pilots are attempting to hit max speed and become flightworthy...or else they plummet off a cliff to their demise, only for another lonely robot to stumble upon their wreckage and start from where the previous robot last left off.
With detailed scoring options available, pilots can compare their playthroughs with previous attempts and friend's attempts, seeing who can reach the highest score with their own unique plane and pilot escape story!
Components shown in video are near-final. They may differ slightly from the finalized production copy (for example, there are now a total of 6 pilots to choose from and a revised playmat)
IronFlight fits snugly into a single mint tin, allowing for an on-the-go play experience that can be taken on trips, played at a bar, or in the comfort of your own home. The playmat shown in marketing images is not required to play IronFlight, but can be purchased separately to enhance and assist in organizing the experience.
Stay tuned for more adventures in the Rustlands!
