Laundry Pile - BJJ Cards
Draw a card from the deck and try to complete your card while BJJ training.
Requirements
Description
Draw a card from the deck and try to complete your card while BJJ training. Add a twist to your Brazilian Jiu Jitsu rolls.
Standard Rules:
Each person draws a card.
You try to complete your card while training. Whoever completes their card first wins.
Time:
We have found that 3 minutes is good for no-gi, 4 for gi. Typically if you can't finish your card in 3 minutes you
aren't going to finish it in that roll.
Tie Breaking:
If nobody completes their card you can either:
A- Keep track of points to determine a winner
B- The winner is whomever completed the most of their card.
Variations:
1- Only the higher belt draws a card. This tends to work if you are separated by 1 - 2 belt levels. The card handicaps the higher belt, limiting their attack options and leveling the playing field.
2- The higher belt reveals their card. This is one of the hardest options to complete. The higher belt draws their card and tells their opponent what they are going to attempt. This provides a good challenge even against lower belt partners.
3- Secret Draw. When nobody else is aware you are using the cards secretly draw a card and attempt to complete it. Spend an entire session working on a particular move, this will get harder as your partners catch on to your game plan.
