Le Premier Lenormand

This deck was first done entirely by hand, save the epson printer, back in 2006. It took a year to design, the collages filled with imagery sourced from public domain, historical and fair use pictures. The deck was cut with exacto knives and eventually a paper cutter after being hand laminated. The booklet was hand stitched and the deck made available on Etsy with either a unique handmade fabric pouch, or a mint tin collaged with colorful papers, stamps and paint.

It was quite an undertaking to make these special pieces, of which only thirty some even exist. Because of Gamecrafter and print on demand, I've made what is still in its own right a collector's item for the lucky few who have these handmade sets, into an accessible deck for anyone who desires it.

This lovely deck with brighter colors and more solid cards than I could have made, is housed as I originally intended in a mint tin with a lovely colorful label and an accordion document with keywords for the interpretations; everything neat and portable. I have also made the full and updated interpretation booklet available for download with purchase on this site in both jpg and pdf form, along with an extra page with additional info for some of the specific symbolism used in this deck.

While not as mature of a deck as my Les Vieux Jours Lenormand, it is still a vibrant representative of my art and fervor for communication of ideas with symbols. Being my very first card project, it will always be special.

As an oracle, it is versatile as is my Les Vieux Jours Lenormand was intended to be; a tool with which one can deepen their relationship with their own subconscious insight by learning how imagery speaks to and effects them.
