The motto of Luxembourg, "We want to remain what we are," speaks to their desire to remain independent from the surrounding nations because they are unique and distinct. These cards aim to honour that spirit with a unique deck that aims to highlight the uniqueness of the people of the Grand Duchy.
The Luxembourgeois deck uses the Germanic suits of Hearts (Häerzer), Bells (Schellen), Acorns (Eechelen), and Leaves (Blieder). However, unlike most decks of the Germanic style this deck does not use the court cards of King, Over, Under but instead uses King (Kennik), Queen (Damm), and Jack (Bauer).
The Luxembourgeois deck has all the cards of a Piquet deck (or stripped deck) and so you can play any games that you would play normally with it. This includes but is not limited to Piquet, Belote, Skat, or Kujong.
