The tribe has sent you out to get meat or furs - enough for the whole tribe. You, the players, are the hunting party that was sent.
The players' choice of what they are seeking determines the difficulty of play. Deer meat is good, but their pelts are thinner than something less edible such as a bear. The deer is also less likely to kill you when you take its meat than the bear is when you try to take its fur.
This game plays a bit more like a miniature game than a card game. When an animal card is drawn the players place their character cards around it and maneuver them as if they were figures.
The bones deck - as in role them bones - is included that serves all the functions of an eight-sided die. This can be replaced by an eight-sider if you don't want to have to stop and shuffle between every draw or you can purchase the
Mammoth Hunters - Spare Bones [www.thegamecrafter.com] pack which contains four more bones decks (color coordinated to make them easier to keep separated). While one player is drawing from one bones deck other players can be shuffling the other decks so there will always be one ready to use.
