Description

Ever want to fulfill your dreams of becoming an artist, but specifically in a way that allows no one to criticize what is clearly a masterpiece?

Well now you can!

overview.png In Masterpieces Maybe, you roll dice and draw the results in whatever ways you can to try and convey what you unfortunately decided was worth being put to canvas. If any player manages to decipher your doubtlessly dubious design, perhaps you have a future in the world of modern art. Maybe.

For a full run-through of how to play, check out the video below!

Every round, each player gets an Inspiration card, and has to choose something that they want to draw. While there are four options to a card, a specific option must be chosen before any dice are rolled.

Now that everyone knows what they'll be drawing, it's time to find out how. Roll the dice! Now you (and everyone else) have to try and use the shapes on the dice to illustrate your inspiration. You can use all five dice or as few as two, but you have to put something there. If your masterpiece isn't complete after just one roll, you can choose to stick around for another round or two of painting. After all, how are you supposed to represent a majestic bald eagle without a nice triangular beak? So push your luck if you dare, or maybe just decide that sometimes a beak can be a square. It wouldn't be art if it weren't up to interpretation.

After all the drawing is done, it's time to see the finished work. Remember, being an is just as much about the eye as the hand. If you can decipher what each painting is trying to convey (or at least feign a guess in the right ballpark), you gain reputation as an critic with an attention to detail, and the artist gains reputation for their stellar contribution to the medium.

Once there have been three full 10-15 minute rounds of finding inspiration, creating masterpieces, and showing them off, the game ends. Whichever player has built up the most positive reputation is declared the winner, becoming the only artist who doesn't have to find a day job!
