Description

Introduction.png

MAYA is a choose your path boardgame for one or more players. You and your team are archaeologists and have been left a map by a retiring professor of an unexplored Maya settlement.

Work your way around the locations looking for artefacts but don't spend too long at each location, you only have five field trips to learn as much as possible!

Gameplay.png

Gameplay varies at different locations but for most you will be working through a deck of cards. Each card will provide options of what to do next. Most options take a day to complete, so you need to choose where to spend your time wisely.

At the river bank, you will be turning over cards to hopefully reveal artefacts. However, each time you spend a day to turn over a card, you have to roll the snake die. If you roll a snake too often, you have been bitten and the current field trip will end, even if you still had days left to use!

FInally, the plaza is the remains of a ball court. Push the disc towards different symbols to collect tiles and maybe artefacts. Beware, similar to the river bank, scorpions are around and can sting. Roll the scorpion die to see if they get you and cut the fied trip short.

For each location, there are two pages within the rulebook which give you a brief background as well as any rules specific to that locaiton.

Each artefact card includes a picture of the artefact, name, location it was found and in the bottom corner of each card is the number of points it's worth.
