Roll and Write Revolution is rolling in the deep! Players take on the role of a fleet of ships who have been trying to manage their shipping lanes in the face of a mighty kraken which wants to drag them all to Davey Jones’ Locker. Players will be hiring help from the mermaids and using their abilities to battle back against the Kraken!
Each turn, a Kraken card is revealed. Players will use dice to activate columns of powers to gain abilities for the turn. The players have to be careful though as each Kraken card has a Trident value, if they can’t match or exceed it with their own tridents, they will suffer wrath from the tentacled terror on the following turn!
Players will gain abilities including more sand dollars to hire more Mermaids,Tridents to fight the Kraken, and also some powers to change their dice.
Mermaids Vs Kraken is a cooperative game in that all players can win or lose depending on the outcome of their battles with each Kraken card. If one player succeeds in beating the Kraken by 2 Tridents, then none of the players will face the Kraken’s wrath the following turn. Plan well with the other players to maximize this benefit and all players will have an easier day.
Players will also collect gems which can grant further one use powers including extra Tridents or more Sand Dollars.
Mermaids Vs Kraken can be played solo with a definitive win/loss condition or it can be played competitively which players earning scores for Gems and exceeding the Kraken as much as possible.

In order to play Mermaids Vs Kraken, each player will need a player sheet, a writing utensil, and 3 dice. Dice color doesn't matter, but we think blue would be a really fun color for this oceanic adventure!
