Micro Word War

Find your opponent’s secret words.

This is a game played with a single handheld card and dry erase marker.

SET UP: Find and mark off four words of lengths 3, 4, 5 and 6 letters. Words are formed from adjacent letters in any direction.

DISCOVERING WORDS: Players take turns calling out grid locations. For example, the “S” at the top left corner is location “a-1".

RESPONDING: Your opponent will respond with either “MISS”, “HIT” or “CLOSE”. With a hit, include the length as well, eg “HIT 5".

If HIT, circle the letter. On subsequent turns, you can either attempt to guess that hidden word or continue calling out grid locations.

CLOSE means the location is immediately next to a letter in any word.

When GUESSED, mark off the word and the indicator matching the word’s length.

WINNING: The first person to find all of their opponent’s secret words is the winner.
