For years, you've toiled in relative obscurity, creating your art for none but yourself to see. But today is your big break as the museum has agreed to let you give a live demonstration of your creative process. When you arrive at the museum, however, your hopes are crushed yet again--the museum has double booked the evening with your rival artist!
But you're not letting this one slip away that easily. You immediately challenge your rival to a contest. You will both create a single mosaic on the same canvas, and the artist who best conveys their vision to the patrons will display their work ... and begin their journey to immortality!
OK, so maybe it's a little picture ...
What you get: This game exists on a single card, with rules on the front and the mosaic canvas on the back. You get 18 copies of Mini Mosaic to hand out to family and friends!
What you need: You provide a single dry erase marker and 3 or more friends.
Start by dividing all players into even teams, then each team designates an artist. The artists secretly agree on a subject for their mosaic, ideally choosing something specific (like a barn) rather than something general (like a square).
The younger artist plays first, using the dry erase marker to fill in any 3 spaces on the game board. Their team then gets one chance to try to guess the subject of the mosaic. If unsuccessful, the other artist takes their turn, this time filling in 4 spaces, after which their team gets a guess. Players then alternate turns, increasing the number of filled in spaces by 1 each turn, until a team successfully guesses the subject.
Once a team guesses correctly, choose new artists and play again with a new subject. The first team to correctly guess 3 puzzles wins the game!
