The North American Nanohertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves (NANOGrav) regularly monitors an array of millisecond pulsars in an effort to detect and characterize low-frequency gravitational waves generated by distant, colliding galaxies. Pulsars are observed with some of the world's most sensitive radio telescopes and corresponding data sets are compiled, analyzed, and released every several years.
This 72-card deck includes 68 pulsar cards, one for each millisecond pulsar in NANOGrav's 15yr data set, and four info cards describing the rich information represented.
Educational materials/activities to accompany cards coming soon!
NANOGrav 15yr cards were designed by Tonia Klein and Joseph Swiggum. Special thanks to Sophia Sosa, Ingrid Stairs, Ilana Meisler, David Nice, Elizabeth Ferrara, Paul Ray, and Anne Archibald for help with editing, content, and code.
