Nice Slice

Cut the cake to gather the best slices with the most icing.

Nice Slice is an area control game played by making slices in a cake with a dry erase marker and a straight edge.

How to play:

Required Items: Game card, fine point dry or wet erase marker, straight edge, score paper and pencil

Game Setup: The player with the soonest upcoming birthday draws a line anywhere on the cake without hitting any rose decorations, following all line rules. Then play passes clockwise to begin the first turn.

Game Play: Each turn a player draws one straight line “cut” on the cake. The goal is to create a slice of cake with up to 4 decoration on it (star, rose). The player’s initial is written in the middle of that slice and the shape is emphasized with another line to show it is claimed. The score is written on the score sheet and play passes to the next player. Play continues until there are no legal moves.

Line Rules: Lines must always reduce the number of decorations in an area by at least 1. Only single lines may be drawn and a straight edge must always be used. Lines must always be extended as far as possible. Lines can be drawn through previous lines, but must stop at the edge of a claimed slice. Any decorations that are partially covered in any way with a line are not counted toward the total decorations on that slice. If you claim a slice that includes a rose, you must draw an additional line after your turn that you cannot claim a new slice from.

Bonus Slice: If you claim a slice and that same line created another slice with just one decoration, claim that slice as well. Scoring: Slices are scored in the following way: 1 point for each decoration on the slice (up to 4) 2 points for each rose on the slice 1 point if any part of the words are on the slice 2 points for each bonus slice

The player with the most points takes the cake!
