Nova

I am a published sci-fi author and artist, and this is just one of the games based in my series' universe.

A Brief History:

In The Korpes Agenda, book two of The Korpes File Series, I described a single hand of a card game called Nova. Over a few pages, Nova took form as a game that characters played for fun, profit, or used to settle bets. It fast became a game that everyone on the planet Tamyrh, from laborer to CEO, knows how to play.

My real-world version of Nova is designed to be a quick, 2-player game. Play one hand or many, the point is to have fun... and win.

Game Ethics:

During development, I had questions about this, so I've added this addendum. Sadly, if someone is going to ignore the spirit of the game and cheat to win, they will. Ultimately, it demonstrates they have low self-esteem.

In the series Nova is a game of honor. If you withhold cards when a Vortex Card is in play or otherwise cheat to win, it casts a shadow on your integrity as a person. This simple action has damaged reputations and carried long-term, post-game consequences for some characters in the series. Learn from their mistake and don't do it.
