One Card City is a spin & write game. Players take turns spinning the card, and drawing on the card to create a city of streets, houses and parks.
The object of the game is to score the most ⭐s when the city is complete. Players score points differently depending on what they're adding to the city.
To start, erase the board. Give one player this card and a dry erase marker. Have something to keep score (e.g., paper and pencil).
The game is played over a series of rounds starting with the first player. The first player spins the card and orients it so the side most directly pointing at them points at them. In player order (clockwise), each player will take the action “pointed” at them.
Players can take one of the three following actions:
Street: Draw a straight line from one side of the card to the other between the ⬜. A street “dead ends” if it were to cross between adjacent city or park ⬜. Score 1⭐ if it crosses the whole card. Also, fill in any 1x1 ⬜ you create (highways) and score 1⭐ for each ⬛.
Park: Draw a [tree] on one empty ⬜. Score 1⭐ for each contiguous [tree] (not separated by a street).
City Block: Draw a [House] on one empty ⬜. Score 1⭐ for each [Tree] adjacent to the housing block (all contiguous [Houses] not separated by a street). [Trees] may be across streets.
The player with the "Any" action take any of the other actions. In two player, it cannot be the same action as the first player.
A round ends when all the players take their action. The play passes to the next player and they become the first player.
The game ends when there are no more available actions. The player with the most points wins.
