Human-and-Machine Readable Playing Cards
Requirements
Description
A set of standard playing cards, with a machine-readable twist. Every card has a standard poker face on the front, and a machine-readable QR Code on the back.
Every QR Code used is of the same dimensions and code length, so the only way to know what card is which is to have a photographic memory... or the ability to process the code in your head.
The deck includes all 13 cards in each of the four 4 suites, plus the Red and Black Jokers. Every card's QR Code is either "JOKER (COLOUR)" or "(CARD) OF (SUITE)". Card names are the wide text name; "SEVEN", not "7".
Ideal for education, research, human-AI interaction, or gaming automation! Personally, I'm using them to perform automated analysis of the quality of my own shuffling skill and techniques.
The card backs used are Creative Commons licenced! Contact me to get a copy of the files, if you want to produce your own variations. I set a GameCrafter price above cost-of-production only to reclaim the time and labour spent producing the card back images.
