The 'game' is just a 36-card deck of cartoon philosophers (mostly philosophers). It's hard to explain but I want it for educational and entertainment purposes. (And I want to make it available for a few other folks who might want it for the same.)
In the late 18th/early 19th century there was, in Germany, a controversy - the so-called 'Pantheism controvery, a.k.a. the Pantheismusstreit, a.k.a. the Spinoza controversy (quasi-distinct from the knock-on Atheismusstreit.) Everyone who was anyone got involved. My deck represents that. (Pantheism says: anyone IS everyone - or maybe the other way around? So, if pantheism is true, it's true. Worst case scenario: no one is anyone. But if that happens, at least we won't be around to be bothered by it. That's MY philosophy.)
So buy my deck if you crave candy-colorful, cartoon-modern philosophers and literary figures on cards. The designs are, like, what if a 1960's Walter Kaufmann paperback turned out to be a 1970's ice cream parlour. (Sorry for any confusion caused about the status of these cards as a game, rather than design indulgence.)
If you want to play it as a game, the rules are very simple. Each player draws a card and then argues with the other player(s) about Spinoza and/or about whoever is on the card. Or pick six cards, discard two, and narrate some swooshy Geistesgeschichte (as Rorty used to say) concerning the four. Victory conditions: the player who talks the swooshiest wins.
