A Two Player Set Collection Game

by Kyle Jarratt

Earthquake! The pharmacy is a shambles, and all the pills need to be sorted! Collect enough pills to make up the recommended doses, courses, and prescriptions but don’t waste too many pills along the way. Efficiency is the key to success!

Dual Action

A small-box, two-player, rules-light version of the upcoming game ‘Pharmacopoeia’. This ‘Dual Action’ version is specifically designed for a simpler, faster game to play with your best mate, significant other or favourite kid ;)

Gameplay Overview

  • Sort pills and try to end the game with the least wasted pills
  • Draw pills to collect sets of 5 (a ‘dose’), but every set you make limits how many pills you can draw next time
  • Every pill that doesn’t make it into a dose by the end of the round is wasted, so the winner is the player with the least wasted pills
  • Set up cascading combos to draw pills again and again on the same turn

Draw Pills from a Common Supply

The 'Dose Tray' Shows Your Drawing Options

E.g.: Draw 3 or 4 green pills:

Collect 5 of the Same Colour Pills to Make a Dose

There are also black and white pills to make 'special doses':

When you make a dose, you put one of those pills on the dose tray.

Pills on the 'Dose Tray' Restrict Your Drawing Options

E.g.: Draw 3 purple pills (the option to draw 2 purple pills has been blocked):

As you add more pills to the dose tray, you'll fill columns to make 'courses'. When you make a 'course' you get to put one pill on the prescription tray. When you fill a section on the prescription tray, you get to remove some pills from your waste tray.

The best pharmacists are the most efficient and will need to waste the least amount of pills as they make doses/courses/prescriptions.
