Plague Rats

Word had reached the streets of London in the spring of 1665 of a large number of deaths occurring across the English Channel in the Netherlands. 50,000 souls lost to a mysterious illness. Could this be the return of the Black Death responsible for so much pain, suffering and loss of life? Surely England will be spared.

You and your fellow plague doctors have just learned of another death within the city of London. This brings the total count of confirmed plague victims to six. The time is now to try to quarantine the city to stop its spread and then evacuate while you are still able. Avoid the spreading plague and don't get caught up in the other's quarantines and you'll make it out alive. Get pinned in by plague and quarantines and you'll be trapped within the great city. If you are the last doctor able to move about, you win.

Your plague doctor is tasked with trying to prevent the spread of the disease within the city limits and must travel around quarantining districts. No player is able to enter a location that has been quarantined by ANY plague doctor.

Despite your best efforts, the plague continues to spread relentlessly around the streets of London. As the plague spreads it begins to encroach on areas that were once safe. No player is able to enter a space claimed by the plague. Plagued areas will almost certainly lead to a swift death. The safer areas of the city quickly start to disappear when the plague sources begin to merge together.

The smart (and living) plague doctor is one who can successfully avoid the plague and slip past the ever expanding quarantines. If you become trapped and are unable to move, you are out of the game. The last plague doctor able to move on their turn wraps up a job well done and flees to safety in the countryside to retire as the winner of Plague Rats.
