Pond Farr

Pond Farr has been picked up by Gryphon Games who will sponsor its Kickstarter Campaign in July. Gryphon has renamed it "Salmon Run". It will feature professional artwork. I will be demoing my prototype at the Dice Tower Con in Orlando!

Pond Farr is a strategic board game for up to four players. It is a unique deck-building race between salmon swimming up a raging river to spawn. Players must negotiate rapids and waterfalls while avoiding hungry bears and eagles. The gameboard is modular so the river is different each time you play and can be set to different difficulties allowing players of all levels to enjoy the game.

Each player must manage their own deck of Swim cards. Players start the game with a small deck of basic Swim (movement) cards. As players make their way up river, cards are added or removed from the deck depending on which path they take. All the while, players must struggle against the powerful currents of the river. If a player overextends themselves, fatigue will set in and begin to slow them down. Pacing and deck managment are vital. Player interaction is enhanced with cards like the bear and the eagle which hinder your opponents.

Overall, Pond Farr is simple enough for families to learn and enjoy, yet strategically complex enough for experienced gamers to be challenged. I hope you enjoy this game and I appreciate any feedback!
