Nature is not only all that is visible to the eye; it also includes the inner pictures of the soul. ~Edvard Munch
~Quick Start Guide~ Shuffle the deck. Roll the die. Draw the card. Meditate on the card’s image and/or message.
You can use these 12 cards in any way you wish. They are meant to be a limitless tool for exploring your personal path toward mindfulness. Some people like to draw a random card while others like to meditate on each card in order.
The method we find the most useful is to first shuffle all the cards in the deck face down. Next, roll the included 12-sided die and read the number on the top. This is the card you are looking for. Keeping the deck face down, count out the number of cards shown on the die, and flip over the last card. This method allows for serendipity in the card selection process.
The images, called PsiForms, were created from data that were collected from a Random Event Generator (REG) while a group of meditators focused their intention on the specific ideas that are listed on each card. There is a theory that suggests that when a group of people are engaged in a common task or experiencing a common event, a kind of “group consciousness” is created which can affect the output of electronic devices like REGs. This idea was studied for nearly 30 years at the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research (PEAR) lab (1979-2007). Their research resulted in a large body of data that support this idea of group consciousness. Today, the research continues with the Global Consciousness Project and in other research labs around the world. To explore this idea of group consciousness, researchers Julie Beischel, PhD, and Mark Boccuzzi of the Windbridge Institute developed these meditations and the specialized software that converts the binary data from the REGs into the images displayed on these cards.
The set contains: 12 full-color cards ~ 1 instruction booklet ~ 1 12-sided die ~ 7 colored cubes (Choking Hazard! Keep out of reach of children!) ~ 1 drawstring storage pouch.
**A Note about the "This game does not come with packaging" note: What this means is that this deck does not come in a fancy box. We liked the idea of everything fitting nicely in a cloth bag. The cards and other items ship in a sturdy shipping box. The items are all individually wrapped and ready for you to use. Once you unpack them, just keep everything together in the included drawstring bag.
