Publish or Perish

Publish or Perish is the game for grad students, professors, and anyone else wanting to find some comic relief in the life of academia.

You play as first-year assistant professors trying to get as many manuscripts through peer review as possible before you go up for tenure. But getting papers accepted by the other players means honing your negotiation skills and playing the right cards at the right time!

Each round, players bid on turn order and the opportunity to select cards that give them advantages. During their turns, players can play a card or submit a manuscript for publication to one of three journals. Two of the journals require the peer review process, in which the other players secretly vote on whether it can be accepted.

Players can influence the peer review process through cards from their hands and by negotiating with other players. The player with the most Victory Points at the end of year 6 wins!
