Quorsum is a strategic racing game for two players. The goal is simple enough: move your two pawns to the opposite corners of the 4x4 grid before your opponent does the same. "The grid" is more than a grid, though -- it is more like a third player, randomized in each new game, with its own fast and slow areas which sometimes help one side, sometimes the other; meanwhile, the two opponents jockey for the fastest paths home by trying to flip key tiles to help themselves or block their opponent.
Luck is a part of the race, but even the dice involve skill, since players must decide how many of their four dice to use for each important move. The result is a flowing and fast-paced game in which players must constantly seek out their own best paths without opening a better one for the adversary. And while the experienced player will usually win, still there is always a chance for both players right up until the last move.
