"This is a 78 card Tarot Deck based on the Rider Waite archetypal standard tarot deck, with 22 Major Arcana cards and the 4 suits, Swords, Wands, Pentacles and Cups. This deck has been reimagined to be anatomical, visceral, and capture as many physical and psychiatric disabilities as they relate to the themes of the cards as possible. The illustrations are the creations of guest artist Ando Ehlers of Demon Tree Media, which are black and white, mythical creatures or 'souls.' These souls are featured throughout Ando’s anthology of work, and because of his background in healthcare, the concept was to weave as much visceral Disability representation into each card, while holding true to the imagery and magic symbology of Tarot.

This deck was created as a beginner’s deck, so that the imagery would be easily accessible and easily recognizable.  It has been my goal to expand the traditional meanings of tarot to capture more of the Disabled lived in experience, as well as raising awareness and creating a space for more inclusive decks in the future.  In this way, when doing readings for ourselves or others, this deck can invoke a more illuminated view into the human body, human emotional being, human connection, and embodiment of spirit in all its glorious variations."
