Raft may seem simple on the surface, but can be made more complex depending on how you choose to play it. If players decide to work together and play as a team, they can see how long they can survive and set an end goal. If players choose to take the competitive route, each player has to fend for themselves. Alliances can be made and quickly broken. As the winning conditions are open-ended, players can make the game as quick, or as long, as they want to. Cards can be removed to make the game more or less difficult as well.
All players share the same raft and can either choose to help one another, form alliances, or try to be the last one alive. Each player must consume food and water every turn, but vitamins can be used instead. Additional cards such as sea creatures, items, and player traits have also been added to keep survival a little more interesting.
