DISCLAIMER: This game uses the "tarot" card size only for its printing card stock measurements. This card size allows lengthy scriptures to fit fully on the cards while still be legible. The REBUKE card game isn't to be used for divination and this game is against all types of witchcraft. REBUKE is a Christian card game that doesn't reflect the views of the occult. |
REBUKE is a 2 to 5 player cooperative memory game that involves self reflection. Everyone that plays will be rebuked! Each player begins the game with one Sin Card. Sin may not seem like anything severe at first, but through the game watch as the Sin cards pile up in front of you. Each Sin has a unique effect that drastically changes player interaction. No one should let their guard down. Just because one player might have fewer Sins than another player doesn't mean it will stay that way.
However all hope is not lost. Aiding you in battle are Forgiveness cards, Christian Character cards, and Recall which will discard Sin. The sooner Sin cards are discarded the better. Work as a team and overcome!
There are two scenarios for ending the game:
After the last card was drawn from the Deck if there are still Sins on the playing field and there is no further way to discard them, then everyone loses.
After the last card was drawn from the Deck if everyone had no Sins or everyone just discarded all Sins by using Redeemed, Recall or Rebuke, then everyone wins.
It is too easy to judge and look down on others without realizing you are struggling with a similar sin. What better way to show this problem than by addressing it within the game. This game will cause you to rethink the issue of sin and how we treat each other. The purpose of this game is to educate everyone on:
The fruits of the Spirit |
Christ-like character |
The 10 Commandments |
The power of prayer |
How to truly forgive |
The correct manner to rebuke |
What is sin & how it negatively effects us |
Overcoming sin only through God the Father |
How to talk about our problems |
Not only do sins negatively effect us, but they cause us to unknowingly hurt those we care about. By modeling our character to the 10 Commandments, which is the character of God the Father, this game displays a beautiful picture of the only way for us to stop feuding with one another. Are we not our brother's keeper? We should care for each other so that we don't stumble into temptation! (Romans 12:10-20)
A rebuke is a stern correction from error, but what is a correction without love? How often as Christians do we hastily try to correct others of their folly, but yet we correct in a boastful manner. This behavior shows the complete opposite of Christ-like character. Thus a misapplied rebuke turns into an argument, hatred ensues between the two, and so the Holy Spirit departs from both of them in sorrow.
A true sincere rebuke comes from a humble heart who’s compassion understands the other’s suffering. This approach advises the one of their error lovingly and shows how to overcome their temptations by pointing that individual back to references within the Word of God. This is how the Holy Spirit works miracles through us. When a person sees another genuinely care for them the bonds of that friendship is strengthened and another soul is brought closer to the family of God. (Matthew 18:11-15)
Christ is the perfect example for everything, yes even a rebuke. In John 14:8-15 Jesus came wrapped in humanity in order to rebuke us of error, to show us the character of His Father, and redeem us from sin. In other words he came to us so that we might believe, follow, and be saved.
