Rescue

A moon sized meteor speeds toward your home planet. Nothing can stop it. Nothing can redirect it. Its destructive power will blow the entire planet apart.

As an interstellar trader, you have a cargo transport ship capable of rescuing many people. Unfortunately, your ship is designed for long distance space journeys and can’t make it through the atmosphere. But you have two pinnaces that can.

Your planet has six main inhabited areas, a plain filled with farmers, a mountain community populated with miners, a monastic exclave with religious leaders, the capital with your leaders and standing army, a manufacturing center filled with engineers and skilled tradesmen, and healing center filled with doctors and nurses.

You need to evacuate as many people as possible but any new settlement would be crippled if you don’t have enough people from any one region. Your success will depend on both the numbers of people rescued and how many regions you can evacuate.

Your pinnace pilots also call this planet home. If you are lucky enough to send your pilot to his home region, he can double the number of people rescued. Also, some of your people are ready to be evacuated and can quickly board your ships. Others are confused and disoriented and still others have given up all hope.
