Artificial life isn't easy for a RoBit. RoBits are constantly in the throws of battle with each other after the humanity that gave birth to them was lost to history. RoBits seek to eliminate all other RoBits to bring about an eternity of peace for themselves and the rest of the universe.
RoBits the game is played on the standard 52 card deck. The game itself cycles between two types of phases; a drawing/equipping phase and a battle phase. RoBits begins with a drawing/equipping phase.
In the Drawing/ Equipping phase players take turns drawing or playing cards 1 at a time trying not to bust. A player busts and loses any cards drawn during this draw phase still in their hand if they draw: 2 of the same number/letter OR 3 of the same suit (except their own)
During a player's turn in the drawing/equipping phase they may perform one and only one of 3 actions: 1)Draw a card 2)Play a card using it's ability function and discarding it after use OR Equipping a card keeping it equipped until your RoBit is injured 3) Choose to stop drawing and playing cards for the rest of the phase keeping any cards drawn so far
Play continues this way until all but 1 player have either busted or choose to stop drawing and playing cards and keep what they've drawn so far instead. The last player to draw a card without busting begins the Battle phase
The Battle phase consists of each player having one turn in clockwise order from whoever "won" the drawing phase. During their 1 turn in the Battle phase players may play as many cards as they want but may not equip cards and may only attack every other player once each.
A player attacks another player by laying down a card of the player they are attacking's suit face up. The other player has a chance to defend themselves if they can by playing a higher card of their suit in response. If a player plays a higher card of their suit when they are attacked they take no damage. Players' RoBits have a max HP of 2 and any direct hit to a RoBit is 1HP worth of damage.
If a player is eliminated then their face cards (J-K) which once performed utility/bodyguard/attack functions now become remnants of that player that must be battled upon drawing. Players pause the draw phase they are in and throw face down on suit of the face card that was drawn Whoever simultaneously reveals the highest of the face card's suit wins taking and keeping that face card as an additional kill. Anyone who could not throw on suit takes damage unless protected otherwise.
In addition to every card having an attack/defense value(2-king) some cards can alternatively perform special abilities. Some of these cards' abilities allow you to perform these special actions only during the Drawing/Equipping phase and some grant you abilities only usable in the Battle phase. A few cards abilities are also usable in either phase as well RoBits - Ability Cards [imgflip.com]
The game is over if somebody has a solo lead in kills when the draw deck runs out of cards and the player with the most kills wins.
No Ties, in the event of a tie, reshuffle the discard pile as a new draw pile and continue play until a victor is decided.
