In the first phase, players will build their bots part-by-part through 4 stages. Each stage the dice are rolled and those dice will pay for the parts that are drawn on your bot card. Parts are built using the shapes of the dice and the values are written on the bot cards. New parts become available each stage. A bot must have a drive assembly, wheels, a weapon assembly, a controller, and a battery.
In the second phase, players fight one another. Matchups are determined randomly. Depending on how you built your bot in the first phase dictates how it will fight in the second. Use the dice to determine the angle and depth of your attack. Cross out spaces on your opponent's bots to reduce its dice options or score. Each player will get 2 attacks in a matchup. After all of the matchups complete, the round ends.
The game ends when either there is only one bot that has not been disabled or after 5 rounds, whichever comes first. If more than one bot lasts the full 5 rounds, the bot that scores the highest is the winner. A bot's score is the total of the numbers that have not been crossed out on their bot.
Q: When I build wheels, it says I have to build 2. Do I use the values on both dice?
A: Yes. One value goes on one wheel and the other goes on the 2nd wheel.
Q: Is it worth crossing out empty spaces in a battery?
A: Crossing out empty spaces in a battery can be a valuable strategy especially if it is the last remaining space. This helps prevent an opponent from getting multiple boosts out of a battery.
Q: Why do some parts have duplicate shapes on them?
A: Duplicate shapes makes it more difficult for an opponent to remove those dice options from you during a fight. All shapes of the same type need to be removed before your access is eliminated.
