Rock Hoppers. Meteor miners. Junk jockeys.
Whatever they’re called, their career is not for the faint hearted. Racing mining ships through dangerous debris fields to be the first to mine precious materials can only end in glorious wealth…or a casket.
Rockhoppers is a fast-paced, realtime racing and set collection game that utilizes dice. Lots of dice.
With six different factions to choose from, Rockhoppers sees all players simultaneously pilot their mining ships around the rings of Saturn in a race to mine rare crystals (‘dice’) hidden within the space rocks.
Use different combinations of mined crystals to propel your ship forward, upgrade your ship’s functionality and score points!
At the end of the game, players receive points for the crystals they have collected, and bonus points for specific combinations of crystals they have collected.
The rocks within Saturn's rings contain crystals (aka “dice”) in four different densities (D4, D8, D12 and D20) and four different types:
Some scanned rocks in the sector may be empty, but others may contain precious crystals.
No more waiting for your turn. All ships move in realtime in a clockwise direction around Saturn. Which sector will you target?
Switch orbits with a single hop, or roll your dice for afterburn. Will you risk overshooting your target with one big roll, or play it safe with many little rolls?
Once within a scanned sector, a ship may mine one crystal per turn. Get there early to mine more crystals!
Shield against collisions, peek at unscanned rocks and more! But will you sacrifice a crystal to power your ship's upgraded functionality?
Certain crystal arrangements in your cargo bay earn you bonus points at the end of the game...but you can't rearrange your mined crystals during the game.

Collecting crystals, zooming around planets and hopping to other rings seems absolutely entertaining, creating the feeling that you are part of a space gold rush of sorts.
