The Shinbone Deck was developed to provide a versatile beck to use for most card games.
The Shinbone deck is a 72 card deck with 5 suits. Each suit is numbered 1-13 and has an icon card plus two Wild cards for the deck. Also included are the rules for two games: The Supreme High Commander and Ay Nako! (More game rules can be found, for free, on the Shinbone Games website).
I have played games with many people over the years, and they all seemed to have a game that they just loved to play. Usually it was a common game that they adapted with their own house rules. I would often hear comments like, ‘it would be nice if there were more colors’, or ‘it is hard to tell the difference between the clubs and the spades sometimes’.
I thought it would be fun to share some of these games and provide a better platform for playing them than the standard playing card deck.
The deck can be adapted to your own family games too. The icon cards can be used for anything needed in the game. For example: The wilds can be removed and the icon cards can used as wilds instead (making 5 wilds in stead of two). Or they can be used as either high or low cards, depending on the need. And so on.
There are a variety of Shinbone deck styles available. Visit shinbonegames.com for more info.
