Revolution is at hand, and everyone can feel it. The time is now, but how will the word be spread?
Each town must send their most impassioned revolutionaries across the country to spread the word and prove their conviction to the cause, but rumor has it there may be some who are still loyal to the crown, and the last thing they want is to keep the message of revolution alive. And there’s only one sure-fire way they know to stop a message.
Shoot the Messenger is a social deduction game based entirely around the spread of information. Each turn, players must send one of their messengers to another player, but there's always a chance that their messenger will get shot by the enemy, and the proof of their passion to the cause gone.
Revolutionaries have to decide who they want to prove their innocence to, who will believe them, and who will hopefully ignore a less-than stellar messenger they happen to be stuck with. Loyalists have to decide who's information is the most likely to be problematic, who will believe their bad cards are just bad luck, and what to do with their most dedicated of messengers, who will give away their allegiance to the crown if they make it to town alive.
Shoot the Messenger is a game of strategy, intuition, luck, and trust. Try your hand at it and see if you can come out of it alive.
