Description

  • Slipper is a penguin who lives in the jungle with many other birds. She struggles to fit in, fly like her friends, and enjoy the foods that they eat. She worries that she is bad at being a bird.
  • One day, the jungle is hit with a snow storm! Slipper learns that the things that make her different from her friends make her good at other things, like walking in the snow. She walks and walks until she meets Flip-Flop, another penguin.
  • Flip-Flop teaches Slipper that she is not a bad bird; she is an excellent penguin!
  • Based on the children's book, this game teaches kids that different does not mean bad. Work together to help Slipper make her way to Flip-Flop and learn about what it's like to be a penguin.
  • Setup: Slipper and Flip-Flop should be on opposite ends of the small board. Each player chooses one penguin and lines up at the "Start" space on the large board. Each player starts with one fish token.
  • Game Play: Take turns rolling the die and advancing to the next space of that color. Two players cannot occupy one space, so if you roll for a space that is already occupied, go to the next space of that color. Each time you land on a penguin space, move Slipper one space closer to Flip-Flop.
  • Challenges: Challenge squares have things that are hard for Slipper when she lives in the jungle, like eating fruit that the other birds like or trying to build a nest. When you experience a challenge, the other birds come over and watch the player on that spot. You are not able to take another turn until you get un-stuck.
  • Fisk Tokens: Fish tokens get you un-stuck. You can use fish tokens to free yourself, or another player can give you a fish token. Each time you pass start, you pick up another fish token.
  • Winning: The game is over when Slipper reaches Flip-Flop. You can play cooperatively and work together to help her reach her goal, or you can choose to compete, and whoever makes Slipper take the final step wins.

Notes

  • This game contains a premium upgrade called UV Coating that makes the printed components more durable.
  • This game contains laser cut components. Laser cut items will have a slight amount of soot around the edges, which can easily be wiped off; and will have a campfire smell for about a week after you open them.
