Description

Welcome to the Mountain!

"I'm so glad that you were hired as Lead Mountain Developer! Christmas break is almost here and we are going to swamped with beginner skiers. Better start cutting some easy trails so they aren't breaking legs trying to go over the headwall. Groomers are fueled and ready to make some corduroy. Oh yeah one more thing, a cold front is due in 3 days. Probably will want to buy some more snow guns to hit the summit. Glad you're on the team, we will show those other mountains who's boss. We’re going to make so much powder the skiers will go SNOWBLIND!"

The Goal

Each player is competing to win trophies by achieving public scenario goals and their own secret personal goals. Whoever has the most trophies at the end of the game wins!

Rounds and Turns

Each round a new weather card is revealed which determines the temperature for all players for the round. On a player’s turn they will pick an action and all players simultaneously may take the same action. Once everyone has taken an action the round is over, the 1st player card will pass to the next player, and a new weather card is revealed.

Actions

Action-Tiles--1-.png

When its your turn there are 4 actions you can choose from:

Cut Trail - Draft trails with unique bonuses and find ideal placement that’ll grant you the most benefit.

Make Snow - Skiers can only ride on sufficiently snowy slopes. Deploy your fleet of snow guns across your mountain and put them to work opening trails. They work better on colder days, so make sure to check the forecast and prepare accordingly.

Groom - Sometimes you end up with a little extra snow on a trail. Put those leftovers to good use by pushing them to a trail-in-need or building a jump to make a little extra cash.

Buy - A taller mountain requires a better ski lift to reach the summit. Purchase chairlifts or boost your ability to make snow by buying a better snow gun.

About the Designer

While working winters at a New Hampshire ski resort, Tim Englert found the business of making snow to be a source of inspiration. Tycoon games about the subject have left out an important feature of mountains on the East coast, snowmaking! Snowmakers work around the clock to open mountains earlier, keep the season running longer, and consistently making a better ski surface. This game was submitted for the Small Box Challenge. He wants to thank everyone who has made this game possible. Enjoy the slopes!
