Description
Speak Up is the first SENGO Game that has not been designed specifically for schools with pupils on the SEN register (though it could be tweaked for them too!)
This game came about after a very dedicated and caring nurse asked me if there was anything similar to other SENGO Games, but for older people. Specifically, patients of hers who had suffered strokes and needed extra motivation and variety to their speech rehab/ development.
This game serves to provide a wide range of opportunities to keep sharp. Throughout the game, players have to verbalise their answers, which are kept as short as they need. The questions given are to do with the letters of the alphabet which they collect as they play, ensuring the full range of sounds are given. There's even a part of the game for facial exercises!
This game is intended to be played between sufferers of strokes and their nurses/ carers/ family members. However, this game is also valuable to schools with pupils who areneeding speech and language support.
