Statecraft

Since the beginning of time, your nation has fished the waters and harvested the lands across the strait. Until recently, this land has been peaceful. Lately, skirmishes have broken out as the surrounding nations try to claim a piece of this land for themselves. You, dear leader, know that this land is rightfully yours and must quickly build up your presence and power in the region and claim it for your nation once and for all.

In Statecraft you'll use a mix of hard and soft political power to carry out all the actions of a 4X game: eXplore, eXpand, eXploit and eXterminate. Build up your available actions as well as your presence on the map. Reach the target level of power and win control of the disputed territory and the game.

Soft Power vs Hard Power

Soft power in politics refers to the actions a sovereignty can do that tie specifically to diplomacy, espionage and generally things below the surface that don't involve a visible physical presence. Hard power conversely involves troops on the ground and exerting force over an area with people, weaponry and physical structures.

You will need to use both to succeed.
