Great artwork is essential in creating an immersive experience for players, and we're committed to creating a game that meets our high standards. Recognizing the financial and logistical constraints of hiring human artists, we turned to AI-generated artwork to bring our vision to life. It's important to note that this game design began over 7 years ago, by humans, for humans - only the artwork was AI-generated. We want to be transparent about our use of AI and are happy to answer any questions you may have. We also recognize the value that human artists can bring, and in the future, we hope to collaborate with talented artists to take our game's artwork to the next level.

Storybook Battles is a tactical card game system for 2 or 4 players that puts you in command of characters from your favorite stories!
Grow with the game. Each "book" of Storybook Battles is a stand-alone game for two players with characters, plots, and settings from a single collection of stories. Learn the game in Basic mode, but add new card types to play Typical and Advanced modes for an added challenge!
For the Basic Mode, just Characters:
For the Typical Mode, add Plot Twists:

More sets, more fun. Players are free to play with whatever set of characters they want; they don't have to be from the same book - "Peter Pan Vs. The Queen of Hearts?", no problem! By combining sets, you also unlock Expert and Team modes of play. Expert mode includes deck-customization for a serious best of three match. Team mode is a 2 Vs. 2 match for four players to enjoy working cooperatively for a shared victory!
There's so much to explore - which book will you open today!?
The Thousand and One Nights, also know as Arabian Nights' Entertainments, is a collection of stories from unknown dates and authors taking place largely in the Middle East, including India, Iran, and Egypt. The books follow the story of the king, Shahryar, and his wife, Scheherazade, who tells him part of a story each night before dawn.
Turns consist of spending Action Points (AP) to pay for actions to maneuver, followed by Battle, before passing to the next player. During your turn, you have 5 AP available to spend.
After you take your actions, all faceup opposed character cards battle simultaneously. Facedown and allied cards do not battle. For each card in play, compare their Shields on each side with the adjacent enemy Swords. If the number of opposed Swords are equal to or greater than the number of Shields, it is considered “Bested” on that side. If a card is Bested on two or more sides, the card is CAPTURED by their opponent.
Example Battle:
- The facedown card does not participate in this battle.
- Wendy is not bested by the Pirates.
- The Pirates are bested by Wendy and by Nana. Since they are bested on two sides, they will be captured.
- Nana is bested by the Pirates and by Captain Hook. Since she is bested on two sides, she will also be captured.
- Despite being bested by Nana, Captain Hook only has one faceup enemy adjacent to him, so he is not captured.
- After the comparisons are made, the Protagonist will capture the Pirates who’s worth 1 Plot Point and the Antagonist will capture Nana who’s worth 4 Plot Points!
When you CAPTURE a card, remove it from play, leave the space empty, and add it to your Plot Points pile on your side of the table. Any card that isn’t captured remains in play and unchanged. After battle, check to see if a player has won - The first player to capture 10 Plot Points wins! Otherwise, your turn is over and you pass the turn to the next player.
At check-out, you can add any game from the Lore Chase Games library. You'll also find additional Storybook Battles books and Collector's Box available for an elegant storage solution for your collection. This is a great way to save on shipping costs!
