Survive or Die Swamp edition is a fast paced survival game that is easy to learn but hard to survive. You are one of 5 people in a plane crash who must cross a swamp to reach the extraction point. Along the way you will encounter various obstacles that you must face as a group. Choose to work as a team or choose to destroy the team to save yourself.
Game Setup: Each player will roll a set of dice to decide what their health is at the start of game play(2 = 60%) (3 = 70%)(4 = 80%)(5 = 90%) (6 = 100%). A player will be designated as scorekeeper and each player's health will be written under their name. The score keeper will also write the number 85 at the top of the scoresheet. This number will represent distance traveled throughout the game and will be subtracted by each roll in the beginning of a turn.
Gameplay: The player with the highest health starts the game and will be considered the group leader. The Group Leader will roll both dice and that number rolled will be subtracted by the number 85. This will be the total distance left to travel to end the game. The Group Leader will then draw the same amount of cards as players and after looking at them will give one card to each player. Players in order will perform the cards action. Food and water cards are filler and will be placed back in a separate pile along with any used cards. Cards such as malaria, and snake bite are kept in front of the players receiving them until they are cured or they perish. Health kits, antivenom, and antibiotics will remain in front of a player until they are used. Once all cards have been performed players will do a night roll.
Night Roll: The night roll will decide how you fare during the night with hypothermia. (1-3 subtract 5 )(4-6 subtract 0 from your health) After the night roll has been completed the next player in clockwise order repeats the process becoming the new Group Leader. The scorekeeper will subtract the health of anyone possessing a malaria or snake bite card at the beginning of the Group Leaders turn after they roll for distance traveled but before the cards are picked up and distributed.
Extraction point- Players reach the extraction point once the distance traveled becomes 0 ending the game.
Gameplay can be made easier by removing a few of the bad cards and can be made harder by removing some of the filler and helpful cards, as well as increasing the distance needed to reach the extraction point.
