Set up the pins and roll the dice! Use the values on the dice to knock down pins (remove them from the lane) and score points for knocked down pins like you would in regular bowling.
An understanding of bowling scoring (strikes and spares in frames) is required.
Give each player a scorecard and a dry erase marker, then choose a player to start.
On your turn:
For example, if you rolled 1, 5, and 6, that would allow you to roll the green die, and let's say it came up as 3. Then you can remove pins 1, 3, 5, and 6, as well as 4 (1 + 3), 7 (1 + 6), 8 (3 + 5), 9 (1 + 3 + 5) and 10 (6 + 3 + 1), for a total of 9 pins!
If you managed to knock down all the pins with your first roll, you got a strike! Otherwise, write down the total and roll the dice again (starting at step 2) to try to knock down the remaining pins for a spare.
After your second roll (or your first if you got a strike), score the frame as in real bowling and let the next player take their turn.
The player with the most points after ten frames wins!
Knock down pins to score points and get the high score to win in this alternate version of Tenpin!
As with the base rules, you will need dry erase markers and a familiarity with scoring in bowling.
Give each player a scorecard and a dry erase marker, then choose a player to start. NOTE: In this version, the colors of the dice do not matter.
On your turn:
First, add up the values of all the dice you rolled. If the total is more than 13, gutterball! Score nothing for this ball. Otherwise, knock down pins by adding dice as you do in the base rules of Tenpin.
For example, if you rolled 1, 3, 4, and 5 (total=13, so no gutterball), you can remove pins 1, 3, 4, and 5, as well as 6 (1 + 5), 7 (3 + 4), 8 (3 + 5), 9 (1 + 3 + 5) and 10 (5 + 4 + 1), for a total of 9 pins!
