The year: 2303

Humanity has entered into an age of unprecedented technological development. Large starships capable of interstellar travel scorch the outer rim of earth's atmosphere, poised to set out on a journey throughout the cold, unknown reaches of endless space. Innovations in atmospheric control, terraforming and engineering have emboldened the passengers of these colossal starships. Humanity is ready to move beyond earth, to claim new worlds in the stars.

As the engines begin to burn and the ships ready for their departure, an eyrie sound cuts through the intercom.

"Help! Were under attack. We can't." The comm dies... Hushed in confusion, silence floods through the starships. Questions swirl in the minds of the passengers.

A voice cries out, "They're under attack! Set a course for the location of that distress call." People race to their positions, unsure of what is happening, as a boy on earth watches the starships in the sky disappear into the black of space.

The Human fleet arrives at their destination, a planet that is being prospected for colonization. Debris from a small ship spines and dances near the planet. The passengers realize they are too late.

"Look!" cries a voice.
All eyes peer outwards through rounded windows, frantically searching for answers. Horror sets on the passengers at what they see. There, in the darkness, sits an alien ship, its weapons bared like wolves' teeth just before the kill, as if to say, "This is my territory." Shock and disbelief runs rampant in the minds of the passengers. Then reality sets in. Humans are not alone in their endeavor to conquer the stars...

And the gears of war begin to turn...

Welcome to The Colonies of War, where players attempt to colonize planets and battle their opponent's starships to take control of the universe! In The Colonies of War, 2 to 4 players each take control of one of 5 galactic factions (the Humans from Earth, the Hellians from Hellgarth, the Argians from Argieus, the Kiastrian from Kiastria, or the Drogers from Urbose) and vie for control of the universe. Starting with just a homeworld, players must build ships and acquire skills to colonize planets. As more planets fall under a players control, he receives more resources to build larger and more deadly ships. The player who manages to conquer all of his opponent's planets, or control the most planets when time runs out, wins the game!

This starter set contains the factions: Humans, Hellions and Kiastrians.
