Description

So, you've inherited the Ludus.

As the new Lanista in charge of the gladiator school, or Ludus, you must train your recruits to be victorious in the Emperor's next Gladiatorial games. Certainly, the school with the most victories would be regarded as the most prestigious Ludus in the empire. Bring glory to your Ludus, or watch as your gladiators fall in the arena!

What is the Ludus! ?

The Ludus! is a high-stakes card and dice game that challenges you to make important choices to keep your recruits alive, and strong enough to emerge victorious in combat. Before the battle begins, your first job is to train your new recruits, and increase their stamina so they can use any upgraded weapons or dodge attacks.

As your recruits defeat enemies and advance through the tournament, they will earn Victory Tokens, upgrading them to veteran gladiators. Collect 7 victory tokens, and you've won the game!

Strategy can make the difference between victory or defeat. Do you send a recruit with low health, but a powerful weapon into battle before the others? Do you pay the Medicus to heal a wounded veteran, or do you save your hard-earned gold to buy a new weapon that will give another recruit the edge? Maybe you will need to use some stamina to dodge an attack, just to stay alive another round.

In the end, how well you have prepared your recruits - along with a lucky roll of the dice - will determine how they fair in the arena. Tough choices are required to keep your recruits alive, but even greater sacrifices are needed to win and bring glory back to your Ludus!

Colosseum Royale - 2 Player Mode

The Ludus! also includes a 2-Player game mode, where both players enter a battle royale-style competition. Only this time, enemies are potential allies, and every card can be bought - for the right price - to give you the edge.

That pesky Tiger that would give you trouble in single player can now be purchased and added to your ranks to face down your opponent!
