Description

“What a regrettably large head you have. I would very much like to hat it.”
-The Mad Hatter (Alice in Wonderland)

The Maddest Hatter is a game about, well... hatting. You are a hatter with $5 to your name. You must collect materials to hat with. Collect the materials, make the hats, and compete at the market to earn more money to buy more materials. It’s enough to make you mad as a Hatter.

Speaking of going mad, you need to watch out for poisoned materials. If your poison in take goes up too much you can very well find yourself mad and it will cost you to regain your sanity. Some materials will come poisoned, but if you need it bad enough, you will take it.

BRIEF INTRO to GAMEPLAY
Each player is given $5 and told to go make hats. 5 cards are drawn from the material deck and given a price. Players take turns buying materials. As a card is taken, the material cards shift down the row reducing the cost of each material by 1. 5 materials are always on display 0 to 4. The newest card always cost the most. The game play continues until the market. At the market players take turns selling their hats made up of the materials. They turn in their materials by discarding and gaining the money associated with the hat. The hat value is determined by rarity in time. For each hat sold of a given type, the value of the hat decreases. Some hats will decrease in value faster because they only take 2 materials to create, others like the ladies boater require extremely rare ingredients like the 'feather'.

It is your goal to balance the cost of materials, with the availability of materials, and be able to read other players on what they are planning to make. With a little bit of luck and a dash of insanity, you could very well be the Maddest Hatter of them All.

Good Luck and Happy Hatting
