Shhh: There is a secret that you knew as a child. All the gibbering echoes that rang through the wood at twilight, the scratching at the windowsill when you pulled your blanket up over your head- that was not your imagination, that was real. These are not the slight and innocent fair-folk of your children’s stories. These are creatures of alien passions, unconstrained by frailties of a mortal soul. Your Rowan branch, your cold-iron cross; you hope these trinkets will keep you safe until you reach home. But there is no way past the crossroads, and as you hear the whippoorwill call, you realize you are already inside a wriggling canvas sack.

But that’s your human life, which seems like someone else’s dream. Now you live on the dark side of the mirror. Avenge ancient rivalries in the Fae court and use your subtly -and your ferocity- to bring all of Elsewhere under your dominion.

Treacherous rivals plot against your ascendancy in the crown. If you want to live to see your coronation, you will have to pick your moments of cooperation and learn when to twist the knife. Hopefully you can pay your debts, because every four seasons you still have to give the Devil his due!
