Tortoise, Hare, Cat, Snake, and Duck - all competing for the title of Fastest Beast in the Forest. With such a prestigious title on the line, no one expects a fair race...
The Tortoise, the Hare, and their Friends is a strategic racing game featuring cute animals. Rather than using dice, players move around the board using identical sets of Speed cards, meaning there's no luck involved whatsoever. This way, no one can dismiss your prowess as "beginner's luck".
Since Speed cards of the same value neutralize each other, you can't expect to get away with obvious plays. Everyone has the same information, so you have to bluff and out-think your opponents. There's a lot to keep in mind: from your opponents' board position, their remaining Speed cards, their Cheat cards, as well as the various effect spaces on the board. Dig a hole in the ground! Use the secret shortcut! Block your opponent's path in a tunnel or up on the peak! There are so many ways to screw someone over!
Defeat your friends and relatives in this game of wits, and try to hold back your tears when someone else got to be the cat!
