Wortschatzwettrennen Expansion Deck 1 "Die Blockade"(Vocabulary Race-"The Blockade") was designed for use with the original game Wortschatzwettrennen, which seeks to bring some fun into the often laborious task of committing vocabulary to memory.

Not a stand-alone game on its own, "Die Blockade" adds to the fun by introducing a new game mechanic. Afraid you are about to lose? No problem. Make other players wait until you can catch up! Indeed, the new vocabulary words in this expansion deck can really hold things up quite a bit. After all, these words are a touch harder than in the original game. Even the best student in class should not get too used to winning, since this expansion deck requires one to continue learning to do well.

NOTE: Words in this expansion deck are what one might expect to encounter toward the end of the first year of many college German classes.
