In Write on Track, a new Train game, players will be connecting Cities, gaining influence, and increasing population all in a push to import and export goods. Each turn 2 six-sided dice are rolled and 1-100 players simultaneously complete actions using each of the dice. The player can mark Influence in an area of the map, which can gain them bonus abilities. The player can use the die value to fill in Population rings of a City to show its demand for Imported goods. The player can also use the value to connect two Cities in a matching region or to connect a City from that region to an adjacent City in another region.
Players will find plenty of ways to earn Stars in this Sandbox style game! Stars are used to trigger game end. Further, the game includes a 9 card expansion deck that allows for Campaign play as players open up new ways of earning Stars and the player who won a previous game starts with a bonus at the beginning of the next game, the losing players also receive a bonus to start the next game. Play a Campaign of 10 games and see who had the greatest total of Stars across the entire Campaign! The Campaign can also be played solo, can you get to 300 Stars?
Understanding the player sheets:
Regions: There are six regions on the map. Each is labeled with a number (1 through 6) and has a unique color.
Influence (economy): Above or below each region is a row of eight train cars. These represent your influence. Growing influence unlocks bonuses.
City Centers and Population: Each region contains four cities. Each city is encircled by two rings. Each ring contains 7 population spaces and 1 import space.
Switching Station- To the left of the playing are is the switching station. This area will allow you to alter future dice rolls depending on what is written.
Goods- Each region produces two types of goods; a common good and a specialty good. When specialty goods are exported, you will gain a star.
Tracks- Tracks will be drawn between any two adjacent cities.
