Quick Overview

In Word Roller, after one player rolls the letter dice, all players use the available letters to write one word on their own word grids. Players place their words to score points or to gain advantage cards. In the end, players total their points based on their word placement and on their use of advantage cards. Clever use of words, rather than clever words, is key to winning this game.

How do you play Word Roller?

Turns: Each turn is fairly quick and simple, with all players taking their turns simultaneously.

Word Placement: The placement of your words makes a big difference in the game. The limited size of the grid demands that you consider future word placement during each turn. You will place words so that they either gain you advantages or points, but not both at the same time.

• Letters on pink circles gain you an advantage card.
• Words on stars and orange sides will gain you points.

Game End: The game ends after the sixth round. Each player finds their total points, and the player with the most points wins (of course)!

• a. Score 1 point for each letter in words that contain a star.
• b. Score points based on how many sides have letters written in them. (2 sides-1 point, 3 sides-3 points, 4 sides-6 points)
• c. Score 1 point for each word in your longest word chain.
• d. Score points earned from advantage cards.
